In other words, “Am I my brother’s keeper?” That’s too cruel. It is not even true; read the chapters on coopetation/rivalry in Ball’s Critical Mass (http://www.popularscience.co.uk/reviews/rev98.htm). Helping people with problems is the best way to receive help, and makes evolutionary sense.
